07:20 pm - I'll Be Your Girl for All Seasons
So there's a TJ Hooker remake in the works. And Grease 2 was on rotation on some movie channel the other week (just try getting Girl For All Seasons out of your head, just try.)
So all this has got me thinking about Adrian Zmed again, and my one friend says he does singing gigs on cruise ships because it's a nice steady income. But I suspect he's stumbled into a real life fanfic story and got turned back to age 15 or so.
Because I can not possibly be the only one who has to constantly do a double take in the supermarket checkout lines when the Jonas Brothers are on the covers. (I don't know which one of them he looks like, but he is totally one of the three Jonas Brothers.)

12:30 am - Operation Watch and Delete Old Media
I went through my hard drives looking for media I'd been keeping around to watch. First up, I found a movie that started all Canadian like, and so I dutifully waited until CKR showed up and then deleted because it was weird.
Then I found Ultimate Force, a British series that I must have downloaded back when I still cared about BSG and Heroes because Apollo and Mohinder are in it. (they aren't really the lead though. The one lead is kind of adorable in a woobie sniper kind of way. The other reminds me of the Commish/Shield guy.) It's kind of like a lesser Spooks, but in this case we have the SAS instead of MI-5. It's full of tracking and spying and moles and double crossing. But the plots are terribly recycled and trite. On the other hand, there was a split lip! And Jamie goes back to visit his estranged family and his dad still thinks he's a good for nothing loser. But suddenly a helicopter lands on his street to whisk him off to do important things. The giant neener, neener, neener in there felt quite good.

10:10 pm - Singing in the Rain
I wish my life was like a jar of mayonnaise. Sometimes you're not sure if the lettuce is too far gone or just really bendy, or if the cheese is being even cheesier or, well, you know. But I made myself a sandwich this morning, came home and found the mayo jar still out on the counter top. It's one of life's easiest decisions.

So I was looking at these pictures from the Supernatural Con, and scroll down to the one where Jensen Ackles has his sunglasses on and his arm is up like he's going to take them off. Is that not a total Airwolf picture? with the shirt and the hair and the sunglasses? And can you picture a remake with just his eyes showing in that big dorky helmut?
Some other people see those pictures and think CHiPs and while they are wrong headed, do you also not think it would be great to see JA and JP as Jon and Ponch? I think it'd be hysterical. And then Jon could fall and break his hand and all my dreams would come true.

Obligatory statement of Trek Bonafides or Lack Thereof IAW STRFLTOPINST 5353.1: I have fake ones. I watched a lot of Trek through out the years, not because I was a fan, but because I inadvertantly surrounded myself with Trek loving people. (And then there was the bizarre "come for Scott Bakula, stick it out as long as you can for Connor Trinneer" thing which I did all on my own.) So it's sort of something that reminds me of all the people I love past and present. It's nice.

09:01 pm - It's Outta Here
Harry Kalas died today. He collapsed in the booth before the Phillies game. He has been the voice of the Phillies for my entire life. The players come and go. Hell, the stadiums come and go. But Harry's been the one constant. The game was on Saturday night, and he was calling it. I was only half paying attention, but I can still hear his voice, because, you know, that's what a baseball game sounds like. It sounds like him. It always has.
